Trainer Card

My name is Kolala! Or at least that's the one I use as a trainer. I've been playing Pokémon since I was a kid, for well over 20 years. While training and battles are some of the main aspects of the franchise, I've never been that interested in them. Instead, I've always preferred collecting Pokémon and having fun with any other activities the games offered, whether it was exploring ancient ruins or growing berries. Fighting was just that thing I had to do to reach new areas to explore haha

Because of that, my favourite game from the main series was Pokémon Ruby. It introduced lots of new mechanics that made spending time with my Pokémon even more entertaining. Now they had different personalities, I could feed them Pokéblocks, and there were contests we could participate in that didn't involve fighting. Furthermore, I could have a secret base with them and a beautiful region to explore. If I had to choose a game to become a Trainer in, it'd be this one.

But hey, that story belongs in the Games section of this shrine, not here. For this page, I wanted to share my Trainer Cards from the different games I've played... if I had them! When I started creating this shrine, I checked my old games to see which Pokémon were on my teams. But I had forgotten something: old cartridges eventually run out of internal battery and, when that happens, your save file is lost.

Besides that, some of my cartridges have disappeared (among them, Ruby). I have no idea whether they're lost or whether they were stolen. Either way, there's nothing I can do to change that. So, instead of sitting here sulking, I've decided to make the most of it and replay those old games. It's a beautiful trip down memory lane. At the end of the day, I know that if my save files had still been there, I wouldn't have wanted to delete them... so, in a way, I guess it's an opportunity to start anew.

For now, I'll show a single Trainer Card with a team made up of some of my favourites. As I replay my old games, I'll add new sections with their cards, and this page will grow as I revive my memories of them. It'll take me months, but I'm eager to start. Smell ya later!
